**The Organisation**

Our client is a leading charity with humanitarian aid, disaster, and response. They raise funds from Australian donors to support operations on the ground improving the lives of displaced people and those affected by disaster and war by providing food, water, shelter, education, and more. They raise impressive, crucial funding from individuals, community, and corporate partners.

**The Role - Prospect Researcher**

It’s a very exciting time for this organisation as they look to bring
**their first Prospect Researcher** onboard to join their
**dedicated, high-performing**, and diverse Philanthropy and Partnerships team (PPT).

In this newly created role of Prospect Researcher, you will use your expertise in this space to
**develop and implement the strategy** for prospect research and management. You will report to the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships and
**provide senior-level support** by conducting in-depth research on prospective major donors, foundations, and potential corporate partners across
**Australia and New Zealand** to identify their propensity to give.

Their Australian philanthropic program is very
**successful and established**, the NZ program is in the start-up phase with lots of opportunity to get things right from the start.

**Responsibilities**
- Create and develop processes to establish a successful prospecting pipeline for the PPT team
- Use the necessary tools and techniques to identify, research, organise and evaluate prospective major donors
- Develop tools to analyse and review the prospect donor pool, moves, and pipeline management
- Introduce and monitor appropriate prospect ranking and rating systems, reporting, and modelling throughout the database
- Prepare in-depth, well-written profiles on prospects including their connections and giving capacity
- Deliver prospect briefings to the Relationship Managers on the team
- Utilise Raisers Edge to the best of its ability, ensuring quality reporting of the major/corporate gift pipeline and the key prospects within it
- Undertake due diligence checks ensuring compliance with all regulatory best practice standards

**Your Skills and Attributes**
- You will come from a similar role and demonstrate a thorough understanding of prospect research management, this can be in the charity or education sector.
- Experience in providing strategically aligned research to help identify and prioritise prospective corporate or individual donors
- Confident profiling, network mapping, qualification, and other intelligence-gathering activities
- Self-motivated and self-driven - the ability to consult and advise on best practise for your program and role
- Ability to liaise and build trust with internal stakeholders
- Concise communicator with the ability to synthesize large quantities of information used by the fundraisers
- First-rate CRM database management skills, preferably Raisers Edge, and a proficiency in MS Office suite
- Confident with the ethics of fundraising and knowledge of privacy legislation
