**Project Overview**:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.

Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.

**Job Summary**:
Our Supply Chain team is made up of experienced professionals in contracts, procurement, buying, expediting, supplier quality and logistics who collaborate to build a strong and efficient ecosystem. As a Supply Chain Bid Specialist, you will be a key member of Bechtel’s Capture Team, responsible for developing and executing best-in-class, winning bids that support the growth of our global business. You will bring Supply Chain expertise, commercial insight, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic thinking to every stage of the bidding process.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Review Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from new and existing clients to understand technical and commercial bid requirements.
- Develop resourced Supply Chain staffing plans aligned with study and project schedules and deliverables.
- Manage the bid approval process within the Supply Chain function, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
- Conduct commercial, technical, and financial risk assessments for all tenders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, Project Controls, Estimating, Health, Safety and Environment and Commercial teams to ensure accurate and complete bid submissions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and subcontractors.
- Support contract negotiations to secure favourable terms and conditions.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience in tendering and bidding for major construction and resources studies and projects under various commercial models.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to interpret complex technical documentation, contracts and commercial documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling tenders and reports.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in managing, preparing and delivering commercial and financial information, often within time constraints
- Negotiation Skills: Resolve ambuguities and requests for clarifications effectively, proven ability to negotiate contracts.
- Teamwork & Autonomy: Comfortable working both collaboratively and autonomously with internal and external parties.
- Continuous Improvement: Willingness to challenge norms and identify better ways of working.
