About the business unit
As a division of Corrections Victoria, Forensic Intervention Services is a specialist program area that provides service users in custody and in the community with evidence-based screening, assessment, and offence-specific intervention services to support their rehabilitation. In doing so, Forensic Intervention Services is a critical component of the department's strategy to reduce reoffending and contribute to community safety.
The Service Development area provides oversight, monitoring, and reform of service delivery across the state, including across both prisons and community corrections. The Service Development area has responsibility for the management and maintenance of the technological systems that support service delivery and continuous improvement.
About the role
The Clinical Projects Officer is responsible for consultation on, and input into, the planning and delivery of clinical research activities delivered by the team. This will include utilising our systems to review file information, assisting with recruitment and data collection, and assisting with data analysis and report writing for forensic research projects under the remit of the Clinical Projects Team.
**Some of your duties will include**:
- Undertake file reviews, screen offenders and determine appropriate pathways, as required.
- Support the proactive and strategic research and evaluation agenda to build internal evidence-based knowledge of the impact of therapeutic interventions
- Complete comprehensive case notes and administration in a timely fashion using the departments information systems.

About you
**To be successful in this role, you will have**:
- Sound theoretical knowledge of best practice principles of therapeutic intervention with service users, including (but not restricted to) the Risk Needs Responsivity Model, and Strengths Based Approaches
- Demonstrate ability to initiate research and analysis within an area of expertise consistent with organisational objectives.
- Knowledge and skills in conducting research and research reports relevant to forensic best practice, relevant to contributing to policy formulation on service delivery.
