About the role:
As we progress our decarbonisation strategy and move towards a renewable energy future, AGL is partnering with residential and commercial customers by installing sustainable energy solutions such as rooftop & ground mount solar, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure to give customers better control over their energy use and costs. Projects range from 10KW for residential customers to 3+MW for commercial customers.

You will be responsible for building capability and accountability for HSE across internal stakeholders and contractors in order to foster an embedded safety culture. Specific responsibilities include:

- Mentoring and upskilling of stakeholders to build capability and confidence across HSE assurance activities
- Developing and instilling a workplace culture of best practice and a positive safety culture
- Leading all of the HSE aspects throughout project scoping and execution
- Working as part of the broader HSE team to improve and implement the AGL HSE strategy
- Reviewing and vetting contractors safety management systems, contractual arrangements and risk assessments
- Responding, investigating and reporting on breaches or incidents on site
- Monitoring business activities for compliance with WHS legislation

The role is primarily based with the project teams with a reasonable aspect of field visits.

About You:
As an experienced HSE professional with exposure to energy, heavy industry or construction projects, you will have a solid understanding of the legislation, safety management systems, risk management and safety behaviours crucial to working in a high-risk environment. Your approach to positively shaping the HSE culture of both internal and external stakeholders will set you up for success.

What you bring to the table:

- Experience working on high-risk projects, risk mitigation and controls
- Qualifications related to HSE management preferred. A passion for improving HSE performance, including on-the-job coaching is essential
- A good understanding of HSE legislation and contractors’ HSE legal and contractual obligations
- The ability to build strong and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with HSE Management Systems, auditing, data management, reporting and training
