Team Leader Gardener Northern Beaches Creative Gardens seeks to establish a nurturing and motivating environment for its staff, and as a Team Leader, you are expected to take an active role in creating this environment. Furthermore, as a Team Leader you are expected to take personal responsibility for the performance and appearance of your team, as both reflect on the organization as a whole.

**Your duties/responsibilities**:

- Arrive to work on time, in order to effectively follow the set schedule
- Ensure your team has the tools and information required to complete the day’s jobs
- Ensure your team arrives on time to all scheduled jobs
- Complete an on-site safety/risk assessment for each job
- Ensure that your team members, yourself included, are working in accordance to required Safety Standards
- Liaise with customers to develop business-client relations, as well as make appropriate recommendations depending on their needs
- Take responsibility for tools and equipment assigned to your team and ensure that all are accounted for and functioning properly
- Facilitate a safe and friendly learning environment for apprentices
- Escalate issues to your Supervisor within an appropriate timeframe, and follow each through until resolution
- Effectively manage assisting staff to ensure all work is completed efficiently and effectively
- Complete all gardening works required to a high standard of quality. These works include but may not be limited to:

- Weed control works
- Tree maintenance including lopping, pruning, chainsaw work and trimming hedges o Planting works o Installation of turf
- Land clearing o Lawn mowing and edging lawns
- Identification of plant diseases and pests
- Effective treatment of plant diseases and pests
- Mulching and laying soil as required
- Measure and provide quotations on materials and labour required to complete works

**Requirements/Qualifications**

 Knowledge of trees and plants maintenance

 Knowledge and experience of working with tools and power equipment

 Own tools required: Secateurs, shears, earmuffs, safety glasses and work boots (not shoes that are falling apart)

 Driver License

 Positive and proactive attitude

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour

Work Location: On the road
