About the Role
- Abstract and correctly assign ICD-10-AM clinical codes using the 3M Encoder software to all inpatient hospital discharges according to the Australian Coding Standards published by the National Centre for Classification in Health within specified timeframes, to meet Hospital Queensland Health deadlines. Ability to provide a higher level of coding accuracy and timeliness of coded data. Assist in mentoring less experienced coders. Clarification of inconsistent, ambiguous or non-specific clinical information contained within medical records by consultation with the responsible Medical Officer while ensuring the efficient and timely completion of clinical classification to meet Hospital and State requirements.
