About the Role
- Accurately assign specific morbidity and procedural classifications to patient episodes to meet data reporting requirements of Queensland Health.
- The advanced coder is acknowledged as having high level clinical coding skills and knowledge, across a broad range of specialties in a tertiary setting, through extensive on the job experience.
- Participate in and contribute to the coder-clinician liaison program to verify clinical documentation for coding purposes.
- Maintain and develop knowledge of coding-related systems, standards and clinical practices.
- Participate in and contribute to quality activities in relation to coded data, patient record documentation and the collection of quality health data.
