About the role
- Permanent part time opportunity to train in classifying inpatient episodes of care using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and The Australian Classification of Health Interventions (ACHI) according to the Australian Coding Standards and Queensland Health requirements
- Assist in the maintenance, development and continued quality assessment of the clinical record content and the clinical record process.
- Learn the concepts of clinical coding and undertake competency units as directed by the Senior Clinical coder and Auditor

About you
- Progression through the competency units, achieving a Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) accuracy and principal diagnosis accuracy of 80 percent or greater.
- Clinical coding - abstract and verify relevant information in the clinical record; assign accurate ICD-10-AM codes and perform DRG grouping according to the Australian Coding Standards, State Coding Authority and legislative guidelines within designated timeframes.
- Actively participate in opportunities to further advance coding knowledge and skills.
