**About the OPPORTUNITY**

We have an excellent and exciting opportunity for a Capability Lead to join our team in Adelaide and support the Hunter Class Frigate Program.

In this role, you'll be responsible for leading and managing capability and development enablers that grow a sustained and capable workforce for the Maritime Business. The role will maintain a high degree of knowledge of the business unit, industry, marketplace and trends.

The role will form effective relationships with relevant functional Capability Leads across BAE Systems, in Australia and globally. The role will need to gain an understanding of the competencies (across all 4 quadrants) that are needed for the Hunter Program, as well as how they are assessed. As a result of this work, the role will understand the current and future needs of the Program and develop plans to ensure these needs are met, either by the Capability & Learning Team, Central Functions or Business Unit specific training teams. There will be a high focus on the Trades/Production workforce and the need to ensure the Hunter Program has Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP).

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, with options of working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinate and manage competency frameworks (Quadrant 4) including the consultation, continuous improvement and availability/communication of such frameworks
- Provide technical expertise in capability options to the business
- Identify and manage risk and opportunity within the capability plan and develop mitigation strategies to ensure that capability enablers are maximised for business value
- In collaboration with the Learning Lead, ensure that learning and development products and services are delivered in accordance with quality and performance parameters and to national and global standards
- Working with key stakeholders, develop and lead the implementation of engagements to support capability development across 70:20:10 to uplift exposure, experience and co-learning
- Lead the competency assessment process for the Program
- Coordinate and manage the SQEP framework for assessment of competence including understanding how both Trades/Production and Office-based data is collected and administered, as well as the tools used
- Work with stakeholders to evolve and improve data collection & reporting
- Develop an integrated cost-schedule baseline for yearly training plans

**About YOU**
- Certificate IV or higher qualification in Training & Assessment
- Demonstrated experience in managing and leading capability needs analyses
- Experience in the Learning & Development technical competency or allied discipline
- Experience in designing training within the Australian Qualifications Framework
