**THE ROLE**:
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment.

Suitable applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills in surgical nursing with the support of an educator. Skill development available for patients requiring 1:1 acute post-operative care.

Ward 4B is a 30-bed ward caring for adult patients from surgical specialties. The surgical specialties include but are not limited to: General surgery, Colorectal, Gastro, Plastics, Skin lesions including melanoma, oncology-based surgery including mastectomy and breast reconstruction (DIEP) and cardiothoracic.

**DUTIES**:

- Implement planned care as delegated.
- Document nursing care in patient records.
- Maintain an effective personal and professional development plan.
- Plan appropriate care following assessment in consultation with the patient.
- Support and inform patients and their families to ensure any direct impact on patients and their families is understood to enable patients to make informed decisions.

**ABOUT YOU**:

- Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Recent demonstrated experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting as a Registered Nurse
- Ability to work unsupervised and proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.
