The role

Do you want to be part of a mission-driven team shaping land use across NSW and work on high-impact projects that deliver real value to communities?

As a Project Officer Strategic Programs and Acquisitions, you'll play a pivotal role in assessing and assuring proposed Crown land sales in accordance with the
Crown Land Management Act 2016
. Your work will directly contribute to the responsible divestment of land from the Crown Estate, enabling sustainable development, community benefit, and effective land stewardship.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead and deliver land sale and divestment projects within defined timeframes
  • Prepare comprehensive assessments for delegated decision-makers under the Act
  • Coordinate acquisition, sale, and vesting initiatives across diverse portfolios
  • Provide expert advice on complex land status, statutory divestment, and land sales
  • Manage internal and external service providers across planning, valuation, legal, and marketing functions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including government agencies, local councils, industry, and community groups
  • Maintain accurate databases, manage project finances, and finalise Crown land accounts
  • Represent the department in forums, committees, and cross-functional teams

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven experience in land management, property divestment, or government asset disposal
  • Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret legislation and policy
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project coordination capabilities
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of valuation, planning, and legal frameworks
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in financial and data management systems
