Finance Officer required for fantastic business in Melbourne's inner norther suburbs. Commences 22nd May. 6 months contract then moving to permanent.

**The Company**

The organisation are a friendly and supportive non for profit based towards Melbourne's northern suburbs. Staff are now returning to the office 50% of the week but parking is available, and they are also close to public transport links.

**The Role**

You will work under a Finance Manager and will cover both payable and receivables as well as some end of month reporting support. This is a long-term opportunity commencing late in late May running for 6 months then hopefully converting to a permanent contract. Standard working hours Monday - Friday.

Some typical duties will involve:
**Accounts and Finance**:

- Assists with Accounting and Finance Projects
- Assist in month end closing and reporting

**Accounts Receivable**:

- Analyse invoicing instruction to ensure revenue is allocated appropriately, and raise tax invoice as required
- Ensure invoice raised is accurately recorded and fully compliant with ATO requirements
- Maintain debtor database in accordance with requirements

**Accounts Payable**:

- Provide support, guidance and advice to staff, volunteer, and external suppliers on accounts payable matters
- Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded in accordance with the relevant legislation and Accounting Standards
- Ensure invoices and payments are duly authorized by a manager in accordance with financial delegations before processing
- Contact suppliers if necessary
- Analyse and maintain some specific financial data and records for relevant suppliers, and other similar records in Excel or other database software
- Ensure invoices and payments are duly allocated and authorized in accordance with financial delegations, prior to processing
- Process payments which includes analysing supplier invoices to ensure expense is allocated correctly to relevant accounts and cost centres, entering invoice to system and process payments.
- Prioritize processing of expenses and payments, in accordance with requirements
- Analyse supplier charges, payments and statements as required.
- Maintain creditor database in accordance with requirements

**Your Profile**

You will have a background in accounts payable with a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:

- Living within commuting distance of Melbourne's northern suburbs
- Able to start in late May
- Long-term working rights in Australia as this role is likely to become permanent
- Prior exposure to accounts payable and receivable + month end reports
- Warm, friendly personality
