- About the Role
- In this role as a Specialist Processing within the Copper South Australia Procurement Team, you will play a vital role in the development of multi-year procurement strategies, partnerships and sourcing activities.
- The key accountabilities of the role include:

- Builds and manages strategic supplier relationships that target realisation of value over and above contract value through innovation, risk sharing, R&D and active commercial partnerships.
- Obtains the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership for goods and services, value, and quality using market research, supplier evaluation, and fact-based negotiation to meet business objectives.
- Supports the development of value chain strategies and customizes these to identify, structure and prioritise opportunities and make educated risk trade-offs across categories over a medium-term time horizon that are then executed in the sourcing cycle.
- Applies an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimisation, and maximise value.
- Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
- Applies intelligence on industry trends and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning.
- Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs
- About You
- To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Strong commercial acumen to balance business priorities and ability to identify opportunities with a view of total cost of ownership, strong quantitative and analytical skills to build fact based insight and recommendations;
- Ability to support the development and implementation of complex, regional and / or global categories sourcing strategies, tendering and sourcing;
- Identify risks and appropriate commercial control options;
- Ability to problem solve and think laterally to independently resolve issues and influence change;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills ;
- Approach work with a strategic mind-set including the ability to identify new opportunities and drive them to implementation;
- Proficient in the use of MS Excel, particularly for data analysis, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
- Be familiar with SAP and related systems such as the Global Contractor Management System; and
- Background in procurement, processing, engineering, mathematics, law, commerce, finance or accounting would be beneficial.
