**Overview of the MCA**:
The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) is Australia’s leading contemporary art museum. Focusing on the work of living artists, MCA’s vision is to engage audiences with contemporary art and ideas through the presentation of a diverse program of exhibitions and special events. From major thematic exhibitions and surveys of established artists, solo exhibitions, and artist projects to new work by emerging artists, the MCA program covers the range and diversity of contemporary art.
**Overview of the position**:
The MCA’s vision is to take a leadership role in shaping a creative and equitable Australia that values contemporary art and artists, and we are committed to making contemporary art accessible and inspiring for everyone.
The Philanthropy Manager plays a pivotal role in the MCA’s primary supporter program called MCA Ambassadors. MCA Ambassadors support exhibitions, social impact programs and the MCA Collection. Working with the Senior Philanthropy Manager, the Philanthropy Manager prospects new supporters for the MCA as well as implements the renewal process of the annual giving program. MCA Ambassadors have access to exclusive curatorial previews, private viewings and special events, the core program of which is implemented by the Philanthropy Manager in conjunction with the Philanthropy and Bequest Assistant.
**Tasks and responsibilities of the position**:
- Support the administration of the MCA Ambassador program, including donor renewals and donor follow-up.
- Develop trusted relationships with MCA Ambassadors to create lifelong engagement.
- Work with the Philanthropy and Bequest Assistant on the delivery of the MCA Ambassador core event programs, including artist dinners, curatorial previews, special events, and plan and deliver domestic and international tours
- In conjunction with the Events Manager, play a central role in the planning and delivery of the primary annual fundraising dinner for the MCA.
- Proactive management of the MCA Ambassador database with the relevant assistants including maintaining donor information, preparing donor information for the MCA Board and the Divisional Director and donor list management.
- Develop and deliver prospecting and stewardship activities and programs for the MCA Ambassador program.
- Coordinating and liaising with MCA Patrons Circles and committees.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate they have:
- 5-plus years’ experience in patronage and donor programs, or experience in a relationship/client-focused environment
- experience in supporting pitching and fundraising discussions with existing and potential donors
- experience coordinating successful fundraising events and client event programs
- developed interpersonal and project management skills and a desire to enhance the MCA brand, develop trusted relationships, and work as a team
- good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise
- excellent communications skills, both written and oral
- excellent database management and administrative skills.Desirable criteria

- interest in contemporary art.

You will need to provide evidence of your COVID-19 vaccination if you are successful. Please note that full vaccination as per the current NSW Government guidelines means two doses of COVID-19 vaccine for adults, and any future approved vaccination boosters. The MCA continues to review this Policy on a regular basis and may change the vaccination mandate requirements in the future.
