We save & change lives. At Children’s Cancer Institute we believe that a life should be long. Cancer cuts life short for hundreds of children every year, before they’ve even had a chance to make their mark. We aim to not only improve their quality of life but eradicate the cause of their pain.
As the only independent Medical Research institute in Australia focused on childhood cancer, our purpose is to translate and discover (through world class research), new treatments that will cure cancer and reduce the side effects in children and adolescents.
Choose to be part of a team that will nurture your talent, so you too can contribute to this purpose. Together, we can and we will cure all children of cancer. It’s not if. It’s when.
Philanthropy is vital to Children’s Cancer Institute achieving its vision to save the lives of all children with cancer and improve their long-term health, through research. Securing, retaining and growing high value support is at the centre of our fundraising strategy.
Reporting to the Relationship Manger, this role is responsible for supporting and driving impactful stewardship, including the delivery of a growing Philanthropy Event Series that consists of various engagement opportunities throughout the year, as well as the stewardship of key long-term Committee partnerships.
**As our Philanthropy Executive your purpose will be to**:
- Inspire and educate our supporters on our vision to cure childhood cancer
- Contribute to the strategy and manage the execution of a growing Philanthropy Event Series that consists of various face-face engagement opportunities throughout the year for our most valuable supporters.
- Understand and execute best practice donor stewardship plans, including sharing of updates, problem solving, thanking, responding to queries in a timely manner and the escalation of issues.
- Support the management and maintenance of the Philanthropy Pipeline in Salesforce to ensure data cleanliness and accuracy.
- Partner with Relationship Managers to enable the wider Philanthropy strategy, including project management, events and stewardship plans.
- Support and enable the activities of our long-standing volunteer Committee partners.
- Steward and grow the Mid-value donor pipeline in line with agreed acquisition targets
- Partner with the Data team to evaluate program performance and use insights to influence Philanthropy strategy.
- Identify high potential prospects and deliver a plan to grow engagement and support of major givers and committees across Australia
- Have a general understanding of the wider Philanthropic landscape, signposting opportunities for program enhancement.
**To succeed you will have**
- 2+ years of fundraising experience or transferrable skills from other work experience.
- Experience working with mid-high value supporters and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to manage all stages of donor pipelines, from prospect research to cultivation.
- Preferrable degree qualifications in a relevant field
**We will support you to be your best with benefits that include but are not limited to**:
- Access to our ‘FlexBEST’ program - true flexibility from day 1
- Focus on employee wellbeing, including up to 5 gifted wellbeing days off (paid) per year
