About the Role:
As the Finance Officer within DE International, you will lead a team of achieve key objectives plus play a pivotal role in ensuring effective financial management and operational support for the department. Based in Brisbane, this position involves preparing financial reports and maintaining the integrity of financial systems. Reporting to a senior supervisor, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, provide strategic advice, and drive improvements in policies, procedures, and practices to support DE International's goals.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with the preparation of financial reports and monthly reporting on performance, including reporting against budgets, particularly in regard to investigating and providing advice on complex issues.
Ensure the integrity of DE International's general ledger and reporting by completing necessary reconciliations, raising journal entries and working papers and implementing appropriate policies, systems, procedures and practices.
Contribute to the development of best practice financial policies, procedures and systems in accordance with the requirements of relevant legislation and internal guidelines.
Manage the input of financial data into the department's financial management system (SAP).
Coordinate key financial activities such as debt management, agent commission arrangements and purchasing and asset management activities as required.
Prepare monthly internal management reports, including activities associated with periodic reviews of DE International's budgets and performance against those budgets.
Liaise and negotiate with education agents, government officials and other clients as required.
Perform complex reconciliation processes using data from student databases.
Supervise and lead staff to cooperatively deliver team and DE International business unit priorities adhering to policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct and ethical behaviour.
Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in effective budget and debt management and balance sheet reconciliation.
A willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
Proficient in MS Excel and basic understanding of PowerBI.
Possess strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
Minimum 3 years' experience in finance role
Intermediate Excel skills
