We are looking for people who are genuinely compassionate, have an energetic personality, with the ability to work independently and an adaptable work approach to provide life enriching experience support and care to our Participants. Ongoing work opportunities across Melbourne *We are seeking a compassionate individual to assist with the achievements of:*
- Demonstrated skills supporting and caring for adults with complex support need e.g. challenging behaviours, complex medical supports.
- Demonstrated ability to establish a professional working relationship with clients that is supportive, encouraging and challenging.
- Demonstrated ability and skill to work within an essential Lifestyle Planning process for persons with a disability.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills,, negotiation, problem solving, and the ability to communicate effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability and willingness to work in a diverse range of settings including but not limited to - a person’s home or place of residence, other services, community groups and other community settings.
- Supporting client with daily life activities such as shopping, grocery and community participation
- Manual handling and use of equipment as per client’s needs
- Understanding challenges faced by client with mental health and provide positive approach to manage their goals
- Creating a safe and comfortable environment
- Transportation and supporting social engagement
- Having a calm approach to client’s behaviour
- Meal preparation and shopping assistance
- Promoting independent living, community participation and social inclusion *Selection Criteria*
- Minimum Certificate IV in Disability
- 3+ year Experience working as a Support Worker (desirable)
- Experience in Aged care. (Desirable)
- Demonstrated experience supporting clients with behaviours of concern
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
