**About the Role**
The Research Grants Officer will support academics in post-award administration in the Contract to Output area. The role will involve entering into agreements to manage incoming international grant funding, ensuring compliance with guidelines, and liaising with research funders. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work flexibly across different teams will be key to success in this role.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Offering post-award administrative support, negotiating research agreements, and ensuring compliance with grant conditions in cooperation with stakeholders, and coordinating communication between researchers and funders.
- Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providing advice to researchers, assisting with reporting to senior management, and supporting training, seminars, and data entry for research management.
**Who we are looking for**
You will have excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. You will demonstrate strong communication skills, building effective stakeholder relationships, show initiative and good judgement, and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualifications with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or training.
- Proven ability to evaluate and interpret complex agreements, rules, policies, and procedures.
- Experience in a University environment and delivering information sessions or seminars.
- Previous legal experience, including contractual negotiations and drafting, with familiarity in handling US federal or international grants such as the Wellcome Trust.
