The Retail Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall performance and operations of multiple retail stores within a designated geographic area. The Retail Area Manager will collaborate with store staff, implement effective retail strategies, and drive initiatives to enhance the overall success of the retail locations in their assigned region.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Strategic Planning**:
1. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and business objectives within the assigned area.
2. Analyze market trends and competition to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
**3. Operational Excellence**:
1. Monitor and ensure adherence to operational standards, policies, and procedures across all retail locations.
2. Collaborate with store managers to optimize inventory levels, minimize losses, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
**4. Communication and Reporting**:
1. Communicate regularly with senior management, providing updates on the performance of the assigned area.
2. Prepare and present comprehensive reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other relevant metrics.
**5. Team Management**:
1. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of retail staff.
2. Provide leadership and guidance to ensure a motivated and skilled workforce.
3. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement development plans for team members.
**6. Training and Development**:
1. Implement training programs for store staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
**7. Customer Satisfaction**:
1. Drive sales initiatives and promotional activities to maximize revenue.
2. Monitor customer feedback and implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
3. Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure a positive shopping experience.
**8. Inventory Management**:
1. Oversee inventory control procedures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory including stock replenishment, order management, and cycle counting.
2. Work closely with stores to optimize inventory levels and reduce holding costs.
3. Collaborate with vendors to negotiate favourable terms and maintain strong relationships.
- Minimize stockouts and overstock situations through managing min/max levels in ERP.
**9. Budget Management**:
1. Collaborate with finance to develop and manage the retail operations budget.
2. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial targets are met.
3. Manage and analyze reports to track sales performance, expenses, and profitability.
4. Implement customer service standards and ensure that they are consistently met or exceeded.
5. Address customer feedback and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
6. Identify opportunities to enhance the overall customer experience.
**10. Visual Merchandising**:
1. Develop and execute compelling visual merchandising strategies to enhance the customer shopping experience.
2. Ensure that displays are aesthetically pleasing, in line with brand guidelines, and optimized for sales.
**Qualifications**:
1. Proven experience in retail operations management, with a track record of success
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office and retail management software
5. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
