**About the Role**:
The Lead, Strategic Coordination provides a critical role in the coordination and delivery of the department’s strategic agenda through critical governance mechanisms, strategic reporting, project support and strategic advice.

Operating as part of the Strategy and Coordination Directorate, the role is responsible for the identification of strategic opportunities and risks across our priorities and critical processes, and supports to ensure children and young people receive the highest quality education possible in every class, in every setting.

The role is also responsible for creating visibility of priority deliverables, their interdependencies and sequencing, and mapping of progress to support the Minister, the Chief Executive and the Senior Executive Group to make informed point in time policy decisions in context.

The role also works closely with our teachers and leaders to understand school and preschool contexts, as an anchor for the strategic prioritisation, coordination, and delivery process across our priority work as an agency.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: A tertiary qualification in project management and/or public policy or equivalent experience.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO8 $121,107 - 125,679 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%) and leave loading.

**Additional Note**:
This is a full-time contract role (1.0 FTE), and part-time options may be negotiated. The initial contract is to 16 June 2025, with extension possible depending on other backfilling arrangements.
