**About the Role**
- As a **Geologist **in the QLD/NSW Subsurface Team, you will identify and develop future well locations, ensuring they are drill-ready and supporting operations during drilling. Your work will integrate drilling results into field models and development plans, enhancing our coal seam gas projects in the Surat, Bowen, and Gunnedah Basins.

Focusing on coal seam gas and emerging tight sand and deep coal plays in the Bowen Basin, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to analyse geological data and optimise drilling strategies.
- Key accountabilities include:

- Undertake comprehensive identification, resource evaluation, and risk assessment of hydrocarbon potential in fields and for appraisal/development drilling opportunities.
- Create and manage detailed field development plans, including post-drill evaluations to enhance field performance expectations, identify remaining drilling opportunities, and assess associated risks and uncertainties.
- Conduct and document extensive field-wide and semi-regional geoscience studies, build and maintain static reservoir models, and assist in pinpointing new drilling and field development opportunities.
- Provide real-time operational support during drilling, including monitoring operations, assisting with operational recommendations, and making evaluation and directional steering decisions.
- Complete and support accurate estimates of field reserves, production potential, and associated risks using established company procedures and processes, ensuring ongoing updates and accuracy.
- Ensure all technical work undergoes rigorous assurance through the Company Subsurface Assurance process, participate in peer reviews, and document and report findings for both working-level use and internal/external stakeholder engagement.

**About You**

**Experience**
- Essential:

- 3-8 years in the oil and gas industry, including Coal Seam Gas.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary subsurface team supporting field appraisal and development plans.
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely to stakeholders and management.
- Proven self-starter and self-guided, with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with key stakeholders and multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills that can be applied across disciplines and management levels.
- Desirable:

- CSG modelling and/or operational experience.
- Experience building geologic models using the Petrel software suite.
- Experience in CSG resources assessments, formulating, documenting, and presenting to resource certifiers.
- Geophysical interpretation.
- Ideally, you will be a degree qualified Geoscientist with demonstrable, significant training and experience within the oil and gas industry.
