**About the opportunity**:
Hudson is partnering with a reputable and growing non-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping those in the community. With a strong commitment to excellence, they are seeking a motivated Payroll Officer to join their finance team and contribute to their success.
- **Role**: Payroll Officer
- **Company**: Non-for-profit (headcount of over 100 employees)
- **Salary range**: Annual salary package between $80-85K per annum, pro rata + super + salary packaging
- **Type of employment**: Permanent, 0.8 (either 4 full days or 5 short days)

As the Payroll Officer, you will play a crutial part within the finance team ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and related financial transactions. Your role will be to manage and administer employee compensation accurately, adhere to regulatory requirements, maintain meticulous records, and provide support to employees and other departments regarding payroll enquires.
- Provide punctual payroll solutions, which include payroll processing, taxation, workers' compensation, salary packaging, and superannuation disbursements
- Manage paperwork and modifications related to both new and existing personnel
- Confirm receipt and input of all necessary documents for new hires prior to their commencement date
- Promptly address and advise on staff enquires
- Rectify any inconsistencies within the payroll system
- Assist the finance officer as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of all payroll-related journal entries into the general ledger
- Calculate various types of leaves and accruals for employees
- Generate necessary reports as needed
- General administrative tasks as needed

**Key selection criteria**:

- Proven experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role (2+ years minimum)
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, tax regulations, and labor laws
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with employees at all levels
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information
