Melsteel, an established steel manufacturer in Melbourne, Victoria for over 30 years, seeks the following technical personnel to work in a small team environment within a purpose-built machine and fabrication complex.

**About The Role - Service Technician / CNC Machine Operator**

A Service Technician / CNC Machine Operator is highly skilled in installing, servicing and maintaining CNC Sheet Metal Machinery.

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems and identify solutions
- Installation and commissioning of new and used equipment
- Set up and operate CNC machines
- Interpret drawings and mark up steel accordingly
- Fit and assemble fabricated steel
- Inspect steel quality and ensure no defects
- Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance as required
- Produce detailed service reports
- Work as part of a team and unsupervised

**Skills & Experience required**:

- Experience in CNC machine operation
- Must be able to interpret drawings to achieve mark out, assembly, fabrication
- Be able to read and interpret manufacturer manuals
- Mechanical and/or Electrical experience and qualifications
- Forklift licence is desirable, but not essential
- Current drivers licence

The base salary starts at AUD $70,000 inclusive of Superannuation and is based on the minimum weekly expected working hours of 38 hours per week. Overtime is available and paid on an hourly basis as worked.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $70,000.00 per year
