Due to exciting and continued growth, Service Stream is seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our Epping Team

Reporting Line: Construction Manager
**Job Description**:
The Supervisor is responsible for managing / supervising a site team to deliver water and sewer pipelines projects. This could also include pump stations or similar infrastructure. The Supervisor is responsible for the complete project scope of work in a manner that is safe, on-time, on-budget and to the agreed standard of quality and client satisfaction.
The role works closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Crew Leader and various
stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The principal objectives of this position is to undertake work including, but not limited to, the areas as identified below.
- Planning and Pre-Construction Activities;
- Conduct constructability review to ensure best overall solution from a quality, cost, ongoing maintenance and safety perspective for Client and Service Stream;
- Assist in the development of project management plans;
- Assist in the development of HSEQ Management plans;
- Assist in the development of all compliance documentation (ITP, checklist, SWMS, JSEA, etc.);
- Coordinate project with principal contractors;
- Construction Activities;
- Ensure that HSEQ Management Plan is implemented in the field;
- Conduct toolbox meeting(s) with team;
- Assist to procure and subsequently co-ordinate resources and materials;
- Manage subcontractors;
- Coordinate all construction activities to budget and schedule;
- Problem solve construction issues as required;
- Promote and lead the use and evolution of Service Stream’s HSEQ systems and their integration into day to day management;
- Promote and lead a culture of safety and wellbeing for Service Stream’s employees and subcontractors;
- Comply with Risk Management, Quality assurance and HSEQ Management systems, including statutory obligations;
- Initiate and/or follow actions to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities in processes or systems;
- Identify, initiate, recommend and assist in the issue resolution process;
- Verify and confirm the effective implementation of said solutions;
- Promote positive HSEQ culture in the workplace;
- Ensure all vehicle, plant and equipment complies with all HSEQ related policies and regulations.
About You
The teams in which the Supervisor manages may be directly employed, sub-contracted resources or a combination of both. The teams may also be working on single sites or across multiple sites depending on the number and scale of each project.
Most projects are located in the northern or western suburbs of Melbourne.
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management/Business (Preferable);
- Relevant Trade Qualification (Preferable);
- Certificate III/IV in OH&S or equivalent (Preferable);
Licences / Registrations / Professional Memberships
- Any ARCUS Accreditation will be extremely well received
- Construction industry induction card white card
- Typical water industry tickets such as working from height, confined space, first aid, plant operator, excavator, traffic management etc
Skills and Attributes:
- Working knowledge of MRWA / WSSA / WSA;
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety laws;
- Practical understanding of relevant standards, Codes of Practice and Authority
- Ability to lead and manage small teams;
- Ability to deal diligently, patiently and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers;
- Self-starter, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly;
- Positive attitude towards compliance across all business needs (safety, quality, environment, community, etc.);
- Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve positive results for employer;
- Analytical with ability to identify and suggest areas for process improvement and drive efficiency;
**Experience**:
- Strong civil experience, particularly in the construction of pipelines;
- Well experienced working in Victoria’s water industry
- Prior experience as a Crew Leader / Leading Hand within the utilities and/or civil constructions sector (Essential);
- Prior experience as a Supervisor / Foreman within the utilities and/or civil constructions sector (Essential);
