Reporting directly to the Recover at Work Manager, the Workers Compensation the Recover at Work Advisor is responsible for assisting injured workers and their managers in facilitating a supported and timely return to work program. The primary objective is to maximise rehabilitation outcomes for staff while minimising the organisation's insurance premiums and maintaining a positive safety culture. The Recover at Work Advisors play a crucial role in continuously improving the business performance of the Human Resources department and contribute effectively to the achievement of the organisation's vision and purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lodging claims with insurers through the SolvInjury workers' compensation injury management system and ensuring timely initial notifications within reporting timeframes.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of timely return to work plans and injury management plans.
- Coordinating the worker's recovery at work, including identifying suitable and meaningful duties in a timely manner.
- Providing moral support to injured workers by offering reassurance and encouragement throughout their treatment and return to work process.
- Actively promoting injury management and return to work processes and positively influencing worker perceptions while highlighting the health benefits of good work.
- Training and educating managers, supervisors, and workers on injury management and return to work processes.
- Providing input into workers' compensation processes, such as reviewing and contributing to the improvement of the Return to Work Injury Management policy and procedure manual and associated policies, systems, and processes.
**Requirements for Success**:
- Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult, and provide advice on workers' compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues.
- Effective coordination of workers' compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies at individual and organisational levels.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, achieving desired outcomes within specified deadlines.
- Proficiency in using technology, including the Microsoft suite of products and HR systems (experience with Solvinjury and icare is preferred but not essential).
- Current relevant qualifications in Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordination accreditation.
- Knowledge of (or ability to acquire knowledge of) the Act and associated regulations and guidelines.
- Experience in (or the ability to acquire knowledge and skills in) injury management and return to work, including case and case load management skills.
- ** Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence**.
