**About this Program**
Carer Gateway is an Australian Government program providing free services and support for carers. Wellways Australia is the first point of contact for all Australian Government Carer Gateway funded services across NSW. The aim of the Carer Gateway is to help Carers access practical information and advice and connect with services in their local area. Carer Gateway provides many services to support carers in their caring role, including in person and phone counselling services.
**About the opportunity**
The Community Engagement Representative position is an integral part of the delivery of the Carer Gateway services program. This newly created role is responsible for undertaking intake, assessment and planning services for Carers accessing support provided by the Carer Gateway across Southeast Queensland
**To be successful in this role**
The objective of the role is supporting the Coordinator Community Engagement and Volunteering to promote Wellways services, work with hard-to-reach Carers, hidden caring cohorts or support Carers who are unable to access services via the Contact Centre in an outreach setting. This role will identify and facilitate opportunities that promote the inclusion of, and build the capacity of, people and community groups to access Carer Gateway services and achieve healthy, strong and connected communities.
The new Carer Gateway Services have been created in the context of national reforms and represent an exciting new era for the delivery of innovative Carer services.
Carer Gateway Services consist of 6 unique service types:
Carer Support Planning: Intake needs assessment and planning Carer Coaching In-person peer support In-person counselling Carer-directed support packages Emergency respite care
**You will also need**:
- Certificate IV in Community Development
- Current valid Driver's License
- Appropriate IT skills
- High computer literacy and IT skills
- Right to Work within Australia
- 100 Points ID
- Satisfactory Police Records Check (within 12 months)
- Satisfactory Working with Children Check - NSW
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate - free online course
- NDIS Worker Screening check
