**Public Sector People** are working with a government organisation the Brisbane CBD who are seeking an AO6 Risk officer on a Risk Advisor for a 3-month Temp contract with the opportunity to go directly with the client afterwards.

This role will be largely coordinating risk management and developing tools and training in line with the department risk framework.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and analysis to identify potential issues within the building and construction sector.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate risk management plans and strategies to minimize potential threats and enhance industry outcomes.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on risk mitigation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other teams and departments to proactively address emerging risks and challenges.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to inform decision-making.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate risk assessments and recommendations to senior management and external partners.

**Qualifications**:

- A relevant bachelor's degree in risk management, business, construction, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in risk management and a proven track record of working in complex, regulated environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with the building and construction industry, including relevant laws and regulations, is advantageous.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Certified Risk Analyst) are a plus.
