I am working with a large State Government Department on the recruitment of 2 x AO6 Communications Officers for long term contract roles in a project team. These roles will see you will develop and implement communication strategies and create supporting materials to promote Engineering and Technology initiatives and achieve business outcomes across the Department. In this busy role, you will deliver projects that utilise your skills in stakeholder engagement, social media, editing, publication management, marketing, market research, public consultation, public relations, online and internal communication and project management.

Accountabilities in this role will include in:

- Develop and implement communication strategies and create supporting materials to promote Engineering
- Work with stakeholders using your skills in social media, writing, researching, content development, media releases and enquiries, strategy development across a wide variety of communication channels.
- Edit and review communication material to ensure it complies with the department’s style guide and applicable corporate standards and policies.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Senior Management, to identify communication issues in the branch and develop and implement proactive measures for issues management and communication plans and activities.
- Develop and implement engagement, communication and marketing campaigns (including market research, budget and resource management).
- Consult and negotiate with internal and external customers to develop and deliver stakeholder engagement and communication activities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Branch’s major projects activities and proactively identify trends and risks in communication issues that may affect the Branch.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the Department’s Corporate Communications and Media Unit’s key stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation, coordination and enhanced communication channels.

To be considered for these opportunities you will have;
- A degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or similar
- Experience working in an engineering and or technical environment, including the ability to translate technical information into easy-to-read content
- Demonstrated project communications and or project management experience
- Builds enduring relationships - Builds and sustains relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer focused outcomes
- Competence in using MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software, particularly InDesign and Premiere Pro
- Drives accountability and outcomes - Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality of results through professionalism, persistence and transparency
- Leads change in complex environments - Embraces change and leads with focus and optimism in an environment of complexity and ambiguity
