**About the Opportunity**
We are seeking a Community Engagement Officer to join our team based at Osborne, SA. Reporting to the Manager Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Community Engagement Officer is accountable for engaging with local communities, key stakeholders, and the public to promote understanding and support for ASC’s submarine projects in order to achieve social licence within the Australian community.
**Responsibilities**
- Implement a community engagement plan and community outreach programs to inform and engage the public about submarine projects.
- Organise events, meetings, and presentations to community stakeholders, to foster community support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organisations, and other stakeholders, acting as a liaison between the organisation and the community.
- Develop and distribute communication materials, including newsletters, press releases, and social media content.
- Collect and analyse feedback from the community to inform project planning and decision-making.
- Promote and facilitate employee involvement in CSR activities, such as volunteerism and fundraising.
- Identify and cultivate partnerships with organisations and initiatives that align with the ASC’s CSR goals.
- Prepare reports on community engagement activities and outcomes.
**About you**
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations or experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder and community engagement and consulting with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build interpersonal relationships internally and external to the business.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Uphold high ethical standards and integrity.
- Willingness to travel interstate.
- Passion for making a positive impact on society and the environment.
**Eligibility**
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
