**The Role**
Joint Proof Experimental Unit (JPEU) is seeking a motivated individual to fulfil the role of Trials Officer within the Range Operations section at Proof Experimental Establishment (P&EE) in Port Wakefield.
Range Operations provides administrative support to the Task Management team, who undertake Static and Dynamic Explosive Ordnance (EO) test and evaluation activities.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Plan and execute trials in the Static or Dynamic domain.
- Provide support in the form of file creation / management for EO testing activities.
- Provision of restricted access to files and audit of file documentation as well as closure of files.
- Collect and consolidate data and information and provide assistance in the preparation of written submissions, reports and other correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain accurate file and records in line with relevant Defence work practices, procedures and policies Perform and achieve procedural, operational and administrative procedures within an integrated workforce of APS, ADF and Defence Industry Support personnel.
**About our Team**
P&EE Port Wakefield carries out Test and Evaluation activities for a diverse range of different calibre weapons and explosive ordnance.
The Team is critical in this process as they provide support enabling activities to be conducted safely. They manage infrastructure to support the trial activities that occurs at multiple locations within the site. The infrastructure and resources enable sections to set up and conduct test and evaluation activities, through static weapon mounted munitions, mobile weapon platforms and ballistic protection trials.
The broader team utilises radar monitoring systems, vehicle GPS tracking and radio communications to co-ordinate the safe access / exit of EO testing areas when explosive ordnance is being dynamically fired or statically tested. Along with the co-ordination of plant operators who provide site construction / heavy vehicle support to development of range testing areas / activities.
Employment at Port Wakefield includes a Special Defence Locality Assistance allowance, $309.85 respectively per fortnight.

- Be capable of working autonomously when required, and effectively as part of a team.
- Have the ability to interpret customer requirements, research technical standards and follow set work procedures.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude and willingness to improve systems, procedures and processes to achieve business outcomes.
- Have a keen attention to detail, and be able to identify potential issues when recording and archiving completed trial activities that may affect quality of data or accuracy of data for items being tested.
The right person for this role will show the flexibility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of JPEU, to achieve business outcomes. In this role, the individual will provide support to a geographically dispersed team.
