**About the Opportunity**
NSW Health Pathology is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Microbiology team within the Centre for Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Laboratory Services (CIDMLS). This is a permanent full-time position based at the Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research (ICPMR), located on the Westmead Hospital campus. The role involves participation in a 24/7 rotating shift roster.

**What you'll be doing**

The incumbent will be required to participate in a 24/7 rotating roster and may rotate through various laboratories within the microbiology department.-
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic clinical microbiology procedures: molecular and culture techniques.- Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations- Customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers and patients as well as clinical laboratory staff-
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities
