Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

**Early Childhood Education - Service Leader**

**Salary**:$76,140.48 per annum pro rata

**Full Time - Permanent**

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced person to fill the Service Leader position at our Mooroopna Children & Families Centre.

This service is located on the Mooroopna Primary School grounds, integrating multi-disciplinary practices which will support collaboration where the child and family are the centre of the partnership. The facility combines family support agencies, Mooroopna Primary School, kindergarten, long day care, Maternal & Child Health as well as other services dependent on community needs.

The centre’s operational hours will be 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday -Friday, incorporating long day care & kindergarten programs for up to 102 children.

Our Service offers a welcoming and friendly space where children and families belong, featuring large spacious rooms with lots of natural light, state of the art modern facilities and excellent resources.

The successful applicant will be able to:
Ensure the provision and maintenance of high quality, flexible, culturally relevant and inclusive early childhood services which meet the needs of a diverse user group;
Ensure the coordination of all service delivery for the centre; providing support, direction and assistance to staff and educators within the relevant program areas, whilst assisting them to implement best practice early childhood education and care and appropriate, effective business practices;
Research current trends and practices to enhance the service’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement;
Participate in Council recruitment processes;
Provide professional advice and assistance to the public and other stakeholders to ensure easy access to all relevant services;
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues and be able to positively

resolve conflict with effective customer service skills and experience; and

Make connections within the wider community to ensure equitable access, enrichment and inclusion for all families and children.

Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:

- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
- Current CPR - HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
- Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Protecting Children - Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood
