Design Assistant Full Time Alexandria

Seafolly has an exciting opportunity for a full time **Design Assistant** to join our Design Team

**The role**:
As the **Design Assistant** you will play a key role in supporting the Head Designer with planning, developing and ensuring all deadlines are met within the critical path.

**You will**:

- Research trend and competitor analysis for colour, shapes, trims, fabrics and prints
- Continually research competition in market to
- Support the design team in creating detailed CADs appropriate for story boards and tech packs.
- Be responsible for developing and checking lab dips/handlooms/knit downs for SMS deadlines - ensuring all colours and qualities meet required standards in line with the critical path
- Be responsible for managing and maintaining all storyboards across each season to ensure all BOMs are correct for SMS and bulk
- Create and maintain seasonal matrix
- Create and maintain seasonal range presentation assets to be circulated with key stakeholders
- Source and develop seasonal custom bases and trims according to commercial brief
- Create and maintain seasonal trackers for bases and trims
- Create seasonal fabric and trim codes to be circulated with product development team, ensuring all input product information is correct and clear
- Arrange seasonal sampling for factories where required to ensure proto’s are not delayed
- Organise, manage and attend weekly fit sessions, ensuring all agreed upon adjustments are updated on all assets and communicated with broader team
- Create handover documents for product development team
- Organise delivery and return of physical fabric ranges from suppliers and agents.
- Escalate any predicted issues with broader team to ensure mínimal impact on SMS and bulk
- Work alongside Creative Director to create seasonal repeats pages to be handed over to production for SMS ordering within critical path timelines - SWIM
- Arrange and manage wearer trials, ensuring all results are circulated with relevant stakeholders
- Create seasonal JOOR/Ecomm shot lists and CAD shot lists within critical path timeline, to be circulated with key stakeholders - (To begin, hand over other categories when they’re familiar with process)
- Photo shoot sample management
- Attend campaign styling sessions to ensure requested product is ordered
- Handover of rainbow range samples to marketing team in line with product release
- Assist broader design team with work overflow to ensure all deadlines are met within critical path

**You have**:

- High energy, enthusiasm and passion for the Seafolly brand
- 1-2 years’ experience in design
- Undertaken tertiary education in fashion or similar field
- Good organisational and time management skills to prioritise and meet deadlines
- A kind and highly collaborative personality across all departments.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Customer service and good interpersonal skills
- Outstanding written and verbal and communication skills
- The ability to remain calm in difficult situations
- A sense of urgency and a proactive mindset
