**About the Role**

This role is a **permanent full-time role** in which you will be working as a **Production Operations Manager** and be part of the Barkuma’s Commercial Services team. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient production of our commercial products, while fostering an environment where supported employees can achieve their NDIS goals, with the right levels of support.

You will be working with vulnerable people and thus should have strong commitment to safeguarding customers and providing developmental support to individuals with disabilities, ultimately making a meaningful difference in their lives.

**Key responsibilities**
- Provide leadership, direction and manage the performance and development of the Production Operations, Business Development and Client Services Teams.
- Provide contemporary manufacturing and quality control principles with a focus on safety, efficiencies, and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for establishing and maintain a Commercial customer strategy, contracts and performance evaluation.
- Workforce and capacity planning systems to balance production requirements with workforce availability and training needs.
- Monitoring and oversight of clients/supported employee’s NDIS goals, supported wage assessments, workplace training and ratios of support.
- Ensure safe work practices are carried out at all times, including workplace inspections and audits and the reporting of hazards, near misses and incidents.
- Follow and ensure that there are reasonable adjustments, policies and procedures in place to safeguard people with disability.

**About you**
- Extensive experience in contemporary manufacturing environments
- Strong financial skills in budgeting and capital expenditure
- Managerial skills to cover operations, finance and people management.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes.
- Understanding and experience of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (desirable).

**Qualifications and Clearances**:

- Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Operations, Management or related areas
- Current NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Knowledge and experience with NDIS environment (desirable)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’ (or willingness to obtain)
- Appropriate infection control certificate
- Current DHS Working with Children check
- Appropriate Child Safe Environments certificate

**Other Conditions**:

- Work rights in Australia
- Ability to travel across different Barkuma sites
- After hours/and travel required
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence (restricted P2 licence and above).

This position will be based primarily out of our Elizabeth office. Parking is available.
