**What You Will Be Doing**

The Ward Clerk reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of the service where they are employed and is responsible for presenting a professional, welcoming and informative reception to patients and visitors within the unit. Additionally they provide efficient and effective general clerical support for the unit staff respecting confidentiality at all times.
This role will include processing of patients in the pre-admission period. Clerical duties associated with admission to Surgical Services Suite on the day of surgery and discharge of patients post day surgery.

- Ability to work in multidisciplinary team environment
- Sets personal standards of excellence and measures and delivers outcomes in a timely manner
- Demonstrated competency in medical terminology
- Computer Literacy
