About the wards

Wards 8 North, 8 East & 8 West provide care for acute and elective patients specialising in Orthopaedic and Plastics Reconstructive surgeries, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary and Upper Gastrointestinal surgeries, Liver Transplant, Gastroenterology and Hepatopancreatobiliary surgeries. This position provides clerical support equally across all three surgical wards.

About the role

As a Ward Clerk at Austin Health, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing best practice care for patients. You'll enjoy our continuing education and quality improvement strategy, which is developed through leadership forums and committees. You'll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoys their work and the contribution they make.

A regular day will see you:

• Working Monday - Friday 4.00pm – 8.00pm
• Working in a hospital environment with unwell people
• Providing clerical support equally across all three surgical wards
• Carrying out all Ward Clerk duties and tasks and working as part of a team

About you:

You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You'll bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

You'll further bring with you:

• Ward Clerk experience in healthcare
• The desire to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• A flexible attitude
• Prioritisation and problem-solving ability
• Excellent verbal and written English skills
