**PRIMARY OBJECTIVE**:
The Hatchery Leading Hand plays a key role in the operational aspects of their area to ensure that production processes are in control and running on time in accordance with the schedule provided by the Assistant Manager.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
This role is considered to be a 100% on-floor role. Indicative elements (including timeframes) of the role are as follows, however it is expected that:

- 50% hands on / task knowledge
- Working on the line/process. Leading by example
- Having thorough knowledge of the area. Being an expert in all things machinery, product, and quality
- 40% production management
- Issuing instructions, planning breaks, order completion & ensuring safety of self and others at all times
- Monitoring and escalating all non-conformance of:

- Product quality
- Throughput
- Machine performance
- Recording of relevant Area data
- 10% leadership and personnel management
- Monitoring and supporting the team, conducting on the job training, leading by example, monitoring rotations, and ensuring compliance with all safety aspects within the department
- Creating a positive and inclusive culture, escalating any employee performance and/or personnel management concerns in ‘real time’
