**The Role**:
We currently have fantastic opportunities for catering assistants & Kitchenhands who are passionate about food and service and willing to assist for the delivery of high-quality products. The role is required to support the Chef Manager in the production of high-quality food for our Canteen, boarding and function catering services.

1 x **PT** Canteen assistant & Kitchenhand. Approx. 25hours. Mon-Fri. 3pm - 8pm / Afternoon Canteen service 3-5pm / Kitchenhand Boarding 5-8pm

2 x **Casual** - FB all-rounders who can work a variety of shifts including kitchen hand food prep and cleaning, function wait service. Cert 3 in cookery preferred by not essential.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Product Delivery & Quality**
- Ensure needs of the School customers are achieved in a professional, courteous and efficient manner.
- Assist with the day-to-day service of canteen.
- Take direction from the Site Manager and work cooperatively within the canteen & Boarding team.
- Consistently meet customer satisfaction targets to generate repeat business, referral and positive word of mouth.
- Attend to customers in an attentive, welcoming and engaging manner
- Prompt and friendly service, greeting the customer and making suggestions to meet their needs
- Efficient use of the cash register
- Notifying customers of specials and recommendations for meal and snack options
- Kitchenhand and cleaning tasks
- Uses customer names and engages to build relationship with customers
- Open and respectful communication regarding any concerning issues, and takes ownership over ensuring solutions are promptly actioned
- Communicates effectively with clients to foster an environment of trust and in a manner, which promotes u understanding of effective work outcomes

**Clean up and maintaining the Workplace**
- All counter area and / or food preparation areas must be cleaned and sanitised at the end of day’s trade adhering to food health and safety standards.
- Use correct chemicals on food preparation areas and kitchen equipment
- Follow cleaning schedule
- Maintain clean and sanitised service area and equipment

**About you**:

- Previous experience in customer service and food presentation is preferable
- Functions
- wait service preferable but not essential
- previous experience working with students preferable
- Solid interpersonal skills
- Knowledge in food safety
- Good grooming standards
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and team player
- Food preparation skills

**Salary**: $23.52 per hour
