**Role Description**

The Air Force Headquarters (AFHQ) High Frequency (HF) Program Support Officer will work as part of the HF Radar team developing strategic briefs and capability plans; providing advice to senior leaders; undertaking capability and project monitoring/ assurance; development of artefacts for Defence Committees; other capability management functions.

As the person will act as an AFHQ coordinating point of contact for Commonwealth stakeholders for the Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) Program, the ability to communicate and engage effectively with stakeholders is critical. Stakeholders will include domestic and international partners regarding HF Radar and related HF technologies, principally those supported by the Wide Area and Space Surveillance Systems Program Office (WASS SPO).

Working as part of a small team, the person will need to be team orientated, operate autonomously and be a self-starter. They will need to have highly developed coordination skills; be flexible in their approach with the ability to manage priorities; and undertake work with purpose without being micro-managed.

**Key activities will include**
- Leading project activities as directed to support successful Defence Committees and delivery of capability.
- Drafting, review, and coordination of supporting capability documentation including briefs internal and external to Air Force.
- Coordination of tasks and development of responses related to Program activities.
- Coordination of HF Technologies sub-program governance requirements including, meeting agendas, action item management and associated reporting.
- Coordination and development of supporting documents including Program and Capability-related Agreements.
- Acting as a point of contact for HF Technologies responsive to HF Program Support Lead

**Key requirements**

**Qualifications**:

- University qualifications in Business Management and/or Project Management, or related discipline. (mandatory)

Knowledge/Understanding/Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Defence Capability Management. (mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management. (mandatory)
- Demonstrated ability to write strategic documentation supporting Government initiatives. (mandatory)
- Demonstrated experience in developing Capability Needs Statements, Business Cases, and other strategic artefacts supporting the delivery of Defence Capability. (mandatory)
- Ability to communicate at all levels across different professional disciplines. (mandatory)
- Demonstrated understanding of security classifications and marking of correspondence. (mandatory)
- Relevant industry experience of more than seven years. (mandatory)
- Experience with HF radar or related technologies.
