We are seeking a skilled **Merchandise Planner** to drive the financial performance of designated merchandise departments across all regions for Seed Heritage.
This role will focus on optimising sales and profit while managing stock levels, markdowns, and inventory to support company growth and profitability.
**THE ROLE**:
- Maximise sales and profit for assigned departments through seasonal plans for sales, stock, markdowns, and GP.
- Conduct in-season performance reviews and recommend re-plans to enhance profitability.
- Develop and maintain item plans for key products and manage optimal inventory levels.
- Prepare post-seasonal analyses and monthly option plans with buy quantities.
- Analyse store grading and optimise allocations based on sales performance and demographics.
- Collaborate with buyers on size, color, and product analysis, updating OTB as necessary.
- Manage aged stock and clearance inventory, preparing markdown summaries.
- Present performance insights and recommendations at weekly trading meetings.
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:
- 3-5 years in merchandise planning or related retail experience, preferably in fashion.
- Proven track record in managing financial performance and inventory optimisation.
- Strong background in data analysis and post-seasonal performance reviews.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, or related field.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with retail planning software preferred.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership experience in team development and mentorship.
- High attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment.
