The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is a statutory body of the Queensland Government established under the Education (Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority) Act 2014. In collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders and partner agencies, the QCAA plays a critical role in the design and delivery of education in Queensland.
The QCAA is responsible for kindergarten guideline and senior secondary syllabus development, and for providing resources and services to help teachers develop curriculum, teaching and learning programs from kindergarten to Year 12. It also provides testing, assessment, moderation, certification, and vocational education and training services to Queensland's education community.
**Your team**: K-10 Curriculum and Assessment Branch
The K-10 Curriculum and Assessment Branch and part of the QCAA's Curriculum Services Division. The branch is responsible for:

- development of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and support for implementation of the P-10 Australian Curriculum
- delivery of professional development to support the implementation of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and P-10 Australian Curriculum
- development of curriculum and assessment resources.

Main responsibilities
The Principal Project Officer - P-10 English and Literacy is responsible for professional learning and resource development to support teachers with the implementation of the P-10 Australian Curriculum: English and to embed the General capability: Literacy in all learning areas. The Australian Curriculum recognises that literacy is fundamental to a student's ability to learn and to engage productively in society.

**In this role, you will**:

- lead, manage and contribute to assigned curriculum and assessment projects within timelines, using allocated resources and involving officers across QCAA and external participants
- lead and participate in project teams to develop policy advice, resources and professional learning that is informed by research and data
- plan and develop resources, and present professional development for teachers and key stakeholders to support the implementation of the P-10 Australian Curriculum: English and the embedding of literacy across the P-10 Australian Curriculum
- provide expert advice to Managers and the Director on issues related to P-10 Australian Curriculum: English and literacy
- prepare briefings, correspondence and reports and other high-level correspondence
- liaise with government and non-government educational agencies on assigned projects
- develop and maintain professional relations between QCAA and key stakeholders
- participate in forums, workshops and discussion groups in relation to the work of the QCAA.
