**About the facility**

Barwon Health’s Maternity Service provides birthing support to more than 2800 families each year.

Services include specialty pregnancy care clinics, including midwives clinics, adolescent pregnancy care, chemical dependency pregnancy care, shared care, midwifery group practice and specialist obstetric clinics. Midwifery Group Practice is a model of care that offers women the continuity of a known midwife as their care provider throughout their pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

**About the role**

As the Patient Services Assistant, you ensure the effective provision of the patient care in assistance of the midwifery staff in the area of the patients welfare, comfort, hygiene and transport in order to achieve and maintain quality patient out comes

Duties of your role include, but not limited to:

- Ensure compliance with the principles of environmental control to minimise contamination and bio burden within the unit to provide patient care in maintained is a safe environment.
- Provision and monitoring of quality meal services to ensure correct meal supplements are provided.
- Provision of essential assistance to midwifery staff in relevant required patient and unit support (ward clerks, administration & environmental services) to ensure quality patient centred care is delivered, maintained and compliant with Barwon Health guidelines, policies and procedures

Essential: Can you please list Barwon Health's values?

Essential: Holds a recognised PSA certificate (or equivalent) from a TAFE College, or equivalent registered training organisation.
Essential: Ability to undertake and complete appropriate internal training modules, such as Smart Moves and Movait
Desirable: Recent experience as a PSA within Maternity Services
Essential: Willingness and ability to develops skills and adapt to changing needs.
Essential: Must be available to work both morning, afternoon and night shifts
Essential: I agree, to commence employment, I am required to meet Barwon Health’s immunisation requirements (including full Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination) set out in the Staff Immunisation Policy.
