**About the role**

Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Insights, the ongoing VPS6 will be responsible for:

- Developing innovative analysis, tools and programs to identify and target high-value investments in collaboration with the global Victorian Government Trade and Investment network.
- Leverage insights and market knowledge, including integrating data from various quantitative and qualitative sources to support Invest Victoria's investment attraction activities through the development of targeted investment collateral
- Manage projects and project teams to deliver on initiatives that implement the foreign direct investment strategy. This includes drafting project proposals, and designing and implementing work plans, according to Invest Victoria's corporate plan and priorities.
- Build effective relationships with senior government and external stakeholders, including by representing the division at forums such as on interdepartmental or external committees

- demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems
- a high level of understanding of the state, national and international economic environments and the issues which impact on Australia's and Victoria's standing as an investment location
- highly developed communication and influencing skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively, develop networks and foster effective working relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills including the ability to negotiation and build consensus with major stakeholders on complex investment related projects
- Proven experience in creatively and proactively targeting investment to Victoria, including promoting Victoria as an investment location
