There is an exciting opportunity in this newly created role to join the Category and Insights team as an Insights Manager. Reporting to the Senior Insights Manager, you will lead and drive the Consumer Insights agenda for the Melbourne Beverages Company (MBC) with brands including Jarrah and Ovaltine, within the Twinings & Co business.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Lead the research programme for MBC to support decisions across the marketing mix. These will include:
- Consumer research to inform brand strategy (including positioning and portfolio strategy)
- Innovation Research (Exploration, Development, Validation and post launch consumer testing)
- Communications development and effectiveness research
- Sensory testing research
- Drive research excellence via accessing a breadth of data sources and methodologies and recommending fit for purpose research design with appropriate agencies
- Support the Brand team to develop Key Consumer Questions for the Jarrah and Ovaltine brand
- Represent Insights in driving the situational analysis to feed into 3 year and brand planning for MBC
- Develop and execute research plans appropriate to projects within the focus pillar
- Execute the Consumer Closeness program ensuring we are truly connected to our consumers to better understand how we can meet their needs, identify insights, and inspire ideas
- Represent consumer insights and research results/recommendations through our innovation stage gate process and business reviews where relevant
- Proactively understand current macro/market trends through desk research and use of available data
- Work collaboratively within our global insights Community leveraging learnings both from other markets and our Marketing Excellence program to build our local & global insights & marketing capability
**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
- A proven track record of research and insight development and the use of insight in business decision making with a minimum of 3 years experience working in a category, consumer/shopper insights role
- Experience with a range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies - highly desirable if you have Nielsen BASES suite of innovation testing and media effectiveness modelling techniques experience (e.g. media mix modelling, cross media)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret & translate data into actionable and relevant insights
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to translate insights and data into compelling stories and communicate to stakeholders at all levels
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business Management or Finance and FMCG experience is highly desirable
- IRI/Nielsen/Quantium experience
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
