**About Us**
**About the Role**
You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to the Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist in the delivery of dental services to patients. You will also assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records as well as other duties as required by the Dentist including promotion of oral health to patients and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery.
- To be successful in this role, you will have:_
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour.
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years (full time equivalent) experience within the last 5 years.
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality care to patients within a dental surgery.
**About Cerberus Health Centre**
Cerberus Health Centre is located at HMAS Cerberus in Westernport (adjacent to Crib Point on the Mornington Peninsula). This Naval base has approximately 4000 members and is the primary training establishment for young recruits (about 6000 personnel trained annually), averaging 800 trainees onboard at any one time. The Health Centre provides primary medical, outpatient, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical care to Defence members. There is also a 30-bed low dependency ward which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The standard operating hours are generally 07:30 - 15:30 Monday - Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend shifts). The Health Centre is also responsible for the provision of after-hours services to ADF personnel on the Mornington Peninsula.

You have a professional and friendly manner and enjoy interacting with patients and assisting the dental team with a range of support activities. Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, you take pride in contributing to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and assisting your team wherever possible. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do. You are passionate about providing dental support services and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support delivery of the highest standard of care to patients.
