We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join one of our government clients for an immediate start.

**The Role**

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- End to End payroll processing
- Monitoring payroll-related calculations including superannuation, tax, and salaries
- Maintain employee data bases and the payroll system
- Handle Pay enquiries
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Query investigation, escalation of issues and working collaboratively to effectively problem solve
- Continuous improvement of processes and procedures

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Preferred experience in a call centre or fast paced hospitality or retail environment
- High level attention to detail
- CHRIS21 or similar payroll/accounting system
- Good data entry skills, accuracy and proven reliability
- Ability to communicate in an exceptional manner, both orally and in writing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Proactive
