**The Role**:
A Barrister at 11th Floor Garfield Barwick Chambers is seeking a law/research clerk to work 3 days per week to assist him in the preparation of matters. This is a perfect opportunity for a law student looking for growth and career progression opportunities. This position demands a high level of organisation, attention to detail and initiative. You must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, reasonable touch-typing speed, high proficiency in Word and Excel, the ability to follow instruction and to work autonomously when required, as well as handling confidential information with integrity. The role includes occasionally attending hearings and trials in the District, Supreme and Family Courts with Counsel.

A keen interest in the following areas of law would be beneficial:

- Crime
- Family
- Family Provisions/Wills and Estates

This position would suit a current law student in their third or fourth year of university.

**Hours**: 9-5pm, 3 days per week

**Wage**: $250 per day

**Your Duties**:
Your duties would include, but not be limited to:

- Undertaking legal research
- Assisting in initial drafting of court documents, such as chronologies and case outlines
- Compiling briefs in preparation for trial
- General administrative duties and calendar management
