We require the immediate start of a Quality Assurance Lead to join our team in Geelong on a casual basis for upcoming turnaround events.

**About the Role**:

- The position will see you responsible for the development, implementation and auditing of strategies for the ongoing improvement of systems and practices for the client and UGL.
- Your key responsibilities will be:

- Define Resources’ management system documentation formats and structures and methods of electronic and hard copy distribution.
- Facilitate development and ongoing review of management procedures encompassing the standard operating practices of operating divisions and functional departments. Such procedures shall comply with the intent of AS/NZS IS0 9001, AS/NZS ISO 14001
- Assess and report on system performance and facilitate review of system suitability and effectiveness by executive management as a basis for initiating ongoing improvement.
- Maintain the technical library including national/international standards, specifications, common instructions, method statements, forms, checklists etc. and assist divisions/projects to select and where appropriate tailor and/or develop specifications and instructions etc. to meet their specific requirements.
- Participate in the recruitment of quality representatives and inspection personnel.
- Provide quality management training.
- Develop tender quality submissions.
- Facilitate development and implementation of quality plans, ITP’s etc. by project/division personnel.
- Maintain a program of review and analysis of product/process conformance/non-conformance and associated corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain a program of system/process audits directed at verifying system conformance and effectiveness and when required facilitate implementation of system improvements.

**Required Education/Qualifications**:

- Degree or Diploma in a related engineering discipline with post-graduate or similar studies in quality management and/or business improvement techniques.

**Desirable Skills/Experience**:

- Multi
- Disciplinary experience in heavy engineering, ideally including process industries, petro-chemical and/or mining in both prduction and field based roles.
- Work background that includes working in organisations involved in construction or similar with preferred experience in a Design-for-Construction environment.
- Auditing, technical writing, team facilitation, development and delivery of training courses.
- Significant experience managing and leading teams
- An excellent understanding of Project Communications, Documentation and Quality Systems.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring and developing engineers and other technical staff.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast paced environment with multiple and competing demands
- Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
