Sydney Western Sydney Airport is the Australian Government-owned corporation delivering Sydney’s new airport, Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport. With construction well underway, Western Sydney Airport prioritises safety while working closely with our contractors to deliver the airport, which will set a new benchmark in experience for our passenger, airline and air cargo customers.
Our on-airport business precinct is almost 200 hectares, comparable to the size of the Parramatta CBD, and will be delivered in stages to create a highly connected place of productivity and employment creation for our tenants and the community.
Western Sydney International is about sparking a new era of jobs and opportunities for the region, while also playing an important role in solving Sydney’s aviation capacity challenge.
Western Sydney International is on track to open to passenger and air cargo services in late 2026.
Reporting to the Executive Manager Risk, Assurance and Compliance, the Risk, Assurance and Compliance Analyst is accountable for the implementation, and continued maintenance of WSA’s Enterprise Risk Management, Assurance and Compliance Frameworks, as well as WSA’S Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) System.
**Position Description**:
- Reporting to the General Manager Risk, Assurance and Compliance, this position is a key role in leading robust risk, assurance and compliance practices across the business and the project.
- With carriage of the Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance and Audit and Assurance Frameworks, this position is pivotal to ensuring effective design, implementation and education of these frameworks within the business remains on track, contributing to a robust approach to governance and uplift in risk maturity.
- Through facilitation of the process of risk profiling, this position will build and maintain influential relationships with the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team and the Board of Directors.
- Governance reporting on Risk, Assurance and Compliance is the responsibility of this position, which will include reporting and presentation through to the Executive Leadership Team, Sub Committees of the Board, Board and Commonwealth, on either a monthly and/or quarterly perspective.
- Ensure that all activities are always undertaken with the safety of people as the number one priority and role modelling of safe behaviour.
- Leading the implementation of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, in line with strategic business priorities, as well as oversight of the Project Risk Management Framework.
- Leading the implementation of the WSA Compliance Framework and update of and governance over the WSA Obligations Matrix.
- The provision of education of the Risk, Assurance and Compliance Frameworks to key stakeholders and integration of the frameworks into business operations to establish robust governance processes.
- Ability to effectively manage internal and external resources.
- Leading the implementation of the enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment to the strategy.
- Ensure Management have the appropriate methods, tools and education to assess risk.
- Identify material and emerging risks and ensuring relevance over time in the ever-changing business, economic and industry environment.
- Manage and coordinate a full range of risk management activities, including risk identification, reporting and control activities across the organisation.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Provide accurate, insightful and timely reports on risk management to Board Committees, Executive Leadership and Commonwealth, to facilitate sound understanding of the business’ overall risk exposure for key stakeholders.
- Monitor, evaluate and improve risk management processes to improve capabilities and performance in risk identification, reporting and controls.
- Manage risk governance arrangements and liaise directly with Executives on risk related issues, exposures and initiatives.
- Lead risk review workshops where applicable.
- Leading and implementing the WSA Compliance Framework, ensuring obligation management is adequately governed, managed, and reported on.
- Leading the development and management of WSA’s Obligations Register covering corporate and operational obligations.
- Mapping the obligations placed upon WSA and monitoring, reporting, and advising in relation to compliance with these obligations.
- The allocation of obligations and providing support to the business in the achievement of required obligations.
