High Voltage Operator & Commissioning Technician (Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport)

Are you an experienced High Voltage (HV) Electrician looking for a challenging new role? My client, a leader in transportation solutions, is seeking a skilled and dedicated High Voltage Operator & Commissioning Technician to join their team on the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport (SMWSA) Project. This is an onsite position where you will play a crucial role in the installation and commissioning of HV equipment and the ongoing network operations.

About the Opportunity

As the High Voltage Operator & Commissioning Technician, you will work closely with the Installation and Commissioning Manager to ensure the project's success. Your expertise will be vital in leading specific delivery aspects, including the detailed planning and review of project designs and methodologies. You will be instrumental in the safe and efficient commissioning of HV electrical equipment and performing necessary switching operations once they are energized.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Executing site installation and commissioning activities as directed
  • Preparing and reviewing HV switching instructions
  • Performing electrical switching operations for the DNSP
  • Coordinating with multi-disciplinary site teams and external partners
  • Ensuring compliance with project frameworks and safety procedures
  • Contributing to the quality assurance process, including documentation and record-keeping
What You'll Bring to the Team

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a proactive and safety-first mindset. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HV network safety rules and operating procedures, as well as a strong background in commissioning practices.

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • NSW Electrician's Licence.
  • HV Operator Training and demonstrated experience in HV commissioning practices
  • A proven track record in self-delivering electrical assignments and managing subcontractors to meet project KPIs
  • Experience with quality management, including ITPs, ITRs, and defect management
  • A Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Rail Industry Worker Card (Advantageous)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience managing complex electrical assignments on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Flexibility to work weekend or night shifts as required
